The Rodings Plantery Free Range Pork and Lamb
Welcome to our smallholding!! We breed and rear
traditional pedigree rare breed pigs and sheep. The
abbess herd of large black and Tamworth pigs are
free ranged here and only bought into our open
fronted barns for the winter months when the Essex
clay is too heavy and wet for the pigs to be
comfortable. We pride ourselves on our high welfare
system and all animals are fed only the best quality
feed with no additives, preservatives or
antibiotics. While outdoors they root around
naturally and we feel that happy animals make
smallholding a pleasure and the end product is a
great tasting pork.
We keep large black and Tamworth boars here at stud.
Our Wiltshire horn sheep are also low in numbers but
have increased dramatically over the last few years
as interest in their low maintenance, due to not
having to shear, has become more desirable as wool
prices drop. Wilties are a great meat sheep so why
not try our lamb as it becomes available.
All of our meat is butchered locally and supplied
neatly packaged. Individually joints are available
but our packs work out cheaper if you have room in
your freezer. We can mix and match packs and are
always ready to help with special orders. Please

Lamb Prices
Lamb only available in season so place your orders
early to avoid disappointment.
Most people prefer half a lamb neatly butchered in
joints and chops at £3.50. Per lb. We are increasing
our flock but lamb does sell quickly so call us
ASAP!! Individual joints and chops are available on
request but again get in early for these.
